COLO SPRGS, CO (Mar 18, 2026) – USA Shooting is the recipient of a cash grant from MidwayUSA Foundation. This grant assists our youth programs by helping cover essential expenses such as ammunition, targets, competition entry fees, travel, and most exciting of all, participation in the Junior World Championships.

“We are sincerely grateful to MidwayUSA Foundation for their continued support of USA Shooting youth programs,” said Kelly Reisdorf, CEO of USA Shooting. “This grant directly assists with the essential expenses associated with training and competition, helping ensure young athletes have access to the resources they need to grow and succeed in our sport.”

The Lones Wigger Endowment through the MidwayUSA Foundation honors the legacy of Olympic legend Lones Wigger while investing in the future of youth shooting sports. Established by donors who shared Wigger’s passion for excellence and mentorship, the endowment provides lasting support for USA Shooting youth programs and athlete development. A two-time Olympic gold medalist and one of the most decorated shooters in U.S. history, Wigger devoted his life to growing the sport, an impact this endowment ensures will continue for generations.

“My brothers and I are very excited about this opportunity to help send USA Shooting’s best juniors to the world stage in Suhl, Germany.  There was nothing more important to our father than the promotion of junior shooting programs and the future of this great sport.  For us, we get to see his memory and legacy live on through these hopeful future champions.” Said Lones’ daughter, Deena McDorman.

“Supporting organizations that directly impact and support the development of our nation’s youth shooting teams and athletes is core to MidwayUSA Foundation’s mission. USA Shooting’s youth development programs are the pipeline for our country’s future Olympic and Paralympic athletes,” said Pete Eisentrager, Executive Director of MidwayUSA Foundation. “The funds they received from our recent cash grant cycle will help ensure those young athletes have the resources and funding they need to represent us on a national and worldwide level.”

Growing the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment is crucial to the future of youth shooting sports.  The endowment takes some of the burden off families that have youth interested in shooting sports, and this funding is available forever.  Every year, our youth programs are eligible to receive 5% of the endowment balance in the form of a cash grant.  Those interested in supporting youth shooting can make a tax-deductible donation to the USA Shooting Youth Program’s MidwayUSA Foundation endowment, which will be matched by MidwayUSA Foundation’s matching program.  Every donation grows the annual cash grant.

Thanks to the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, The Foundation removes nothing for operating expenses, allowing 100% of your donation to benefit our endowment. The USA Shooting Youth Program’s endowment page can be found here https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/organization/?id=DE10710 and you can be sure online donations are safe and secure, as MidwayUSA Foundation is a top-ranked charity.
